Lake Maspenock - Hopkinton Massachusetts

Lake Maspenock - Hopkinton Massachusetts

On this lovely spring day it was evident that boaters were beginning their season on Lake Maspenock.  With temperatures approaching 80 degrees, it was perfect time to launch.

The lake is a favorite of locals and residents of Hopkinton who love to their power boats and jet skis which are allowed on this popular and scenic body of water.

Lake Maspenock is home to the only town beach, Sandy Island.  Located right in the middle of the lake, the beach is open from June to September and offers swimming during lifeguard hours.

There are four lakes that are enjoyed by the residents of Hopkinton.  Besides Lake Maspenock, the others are Echo Lake, Lake Whitehall and the Hopkinton Reservoir.

A number of waterfront homes exist on Lake Maspenock, most notably on the streets of Downey Street, Oakhurst Road and Woody Island Road.  Some of these are year-round residences while some are used only during the summer months.

While summer is for boating, picnicking, swimming and fishing, during the winter months, local residents can take advantage of cross country skiing, snowmobiling and ice fishing on the lake.

The Lake Maspenock Preservation Association is a group of volunteer citizens who oversee such programs as the annual Lake Cleanup day, protecting this beautiful area so that all can enjoy it.
