Loft Home Styles

Loft apartments are large open spaces in buildings that were typically first used for industrial purposes, but were then converted into private residences. A loft can be a collection of rooms or an entire floor, but in general they are characterized by their lack of walls that separate rooms, such as you would find in most houses and apartments. One very popular way that lofts are created is through urban renewal and renovation programs; old industrial buildings that are no longer housing businesses are made over into new living spaces to improve the image of a neighborhood. So owning a loft can easily place you downtown, in the busy heart of a city. Rooms that were used for storage or manufacturing turn into a combination of kitchen, dining room, living room and more. This type of space has historically been very popular among artists, having an abundance of studio space in which to create and display work.
