Founded in September 2005, Trulia is a privately held company backed by angel investors and venture capital funding from Accel Partners, Sequoia Capital, Fayez Sarofim & Co, SV Angel and Deep Fork Capital. Our company is experiencing rapid growth with strong revenues and solid market share and is currently looking for a VP, Controller lead Trulia's accounting function.
This position will report to the CFO of Trulia and will be based in our downtown San Francisco office. The VP, Controller will lead the accounting function, streamline the Company’s processes, ensure a timely and accurate monthly close, manage the relationship with the company’s external auditors and help guide decision making within the company. The right person will have a track record of success in both private and public companies as well as experience with a public accounting firm.

Responsibilities
- Lead all aspects of the accounting function including controls, financial reporting, audits, revenue recognition, billing & collections, payroll, sales commissions, accounts payable, taxes and stock option accounting
- Prepare SEC filings including S-1 and quarterly & annual filings
- Implement SOX compliance program
- Implement new mid-range ERP software system (such as NetSuite, Great Plains, etc.)
- Manage relationship with company’s external auditors
- Prepare materials and present to Audit Committee of Board of Directors
- Lead the integration of companies that are acquired through M&A
Qualifications
- Minimum of 12-15 years of total work experience
- CPA and work experience with Big 4 public accounting firm required
- Internet industry experience would be a plus. Prior work experience working for large public company as well as experience in high growth, private companies a plus
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP, SEC reporting and compliance
- SOX planning, management and implementation experience
- Experience implementing and upgrading mid-range ERP software systems
- Proven manager or leader who can manage and motivate a team of accounting staff
- Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees and executive management
