"Great small place to raise family. Close to Lubbock for shopping and entertainment. Only 12 miles to Littlefield and/or Shallowater. Lubbock is 25 minutes from Anton. "

"anton is a good smalvery safe town good school only 1 restaurant and 1 store but it also serves lunch"

"One must understand that in a town this small there will not be the same amenities available in larger towns. There has been a population loss, the income distribution levels have also changed since the incorporation 100 yrs ago of this farming community. Currently businesses include, Beauty/Barber Shop, Senior Citizens Center, Pump and Farm Supply, Two Insurance Agencies, Two Storage Facilities, Museum, Dairy Mart Burgers with indoor dining area, Gas Station with Mom and Pop convenience store, US Post Office, 5-7 Churches, Justice of the Peace, City Hall, Volunteer Fire Dept, Pre K - 12th grade Public School (with rising student scores, excellent teachers, small teacher student ratio, Patrolling County Sheriff Support. Handicap Transportation available for Seniors and for Medical appointments. Nearest shopping Littlefield 12 min. Nearest large retail area 25 min to Lubbock. Entertainment, Bingo, Student Activities Concerts, Games, Fundraising Meals, Fish Frys, Seniors Activities, yoga, seasonal celebrations at churches and Seniors Center. open to the public."
