"This community is mostly older residents. I had school aged kids here and there weren’t many other kids around. It did feel safe for kids here. "

"It’s a nice neighborhood - walkable, with a lake and a community club house and a post office. Rocky’s Deli is a very nice small business as well."

"Most people own and love pets here. There is an online neighborhood watch and people look out for lost or missing pets. They are very community-minded and thoughtful. If you’re thinking about moving here, you don’t have to think twice. "

"Somers is a safe, quiet, beautiful area to live in with great schools for my young children. The people are very friendly and the large plots of land, most around 2 acres provides great privacy which is a huge difference coming from New York City."

"It’s a community within itself. We are shenorockians lol. In school we were the shenorock kids the kids that lived in “the rock”. There is a lake to fish at but not swim and a park with no equipment to play on but it’s close to shops and gas stations and restaurants without being on a main road. "
