"I lived in Riverside from ages 5 until 17 and there are a lot of kids to grow up with. it has its good and it's bad it can be dangerous but it also is a place that has a sense of community. I would recommend it to anybody. it has nice parks. good neighbors and it's always cool. because of the river. The schools aren't bad and it helps kids grow into adults that are street smart and book smart."

"Ive lived in black rock my whole life and ive seen it go from leaving your doors open to run to the store and nothing was touched to having your house on complete lock down. The parking is a joke. Unless you have a driveway good luck finding a spot. Germain has calmed down some but i wouldnt buy a house here."

"Neighborhood as all neighborhoods has some bad and good. Will always choose Blackrock area to live. Been here all my life in Buffalo. And has spent the last 23 years in Blackrock. Wegmans and Tops are very close by. Amherst Street is pulling more little businesses. Not a bad place to live. "

"A Historical neighborhood primarily populated with owner occupied and community involved citizens. Close to bike paths, parks, historical interests. Amherst Street/Elmwood district. "

"I live on this street and overall it is a very quiet area. Convenient walking distance to many restuarants and shops, less than a 2 mile drive to all North Buffalo shopping areas have to offer. Minutes to the 190 and 198, providing easy access all over the city and the 'burbs. This isn't the most hip or fancy place on earth, but it is a good investment in a relatively stable housing market in a neigbhorhood that is seeing a gradual resurgance. There is only one onoccupied house on the street and it just sold. There are one two unoccupied houses on the adjacent streets - one is for sale, the other was reposessesed for non-payment. Largely a working to middle class area where the majority of people DO work and maintenance their homes, not a lazy-man's ghetto as people are made out to believe. Crime problems are largely minor, petty stuff and almost always perpetrated against some the criminal associates with or someone being stupid (walking around with a wallet full of cash and a gold chain at 3am). Also, this is a very diverse area. There are black, white, Latino, Burmese and Bhutanese people on this and the surrounding streets and there are several good ethnic restaurants in the area. "
