"I’ve lived in Southport for 19 years and have found this community to be friendly and welcoming to new arrivals. Downtown area is a pleasant place for walking and shopping Traffic is reasonable but with growing population we will need the main access road widening that have been planned but may not arrive before gridlock becomes a real problem."

"Would rather not see any dogs. This is a Marina and not really a place for animals. There is significant traffic here which is another animal’s enemy. Just today I see another dead deer along the side of the road."

"I've lived in historic downtown Southport for 3 years and it is a wonderful place to be. Near the waterfront and I can walk to restaurants, shopping ...everything. Not to mention we have gorgeous over 200 year old oaks everywhere."
