"We've lived in Nahant for 10 years. Many families have been here for generations. Based on a variety of criteria, it was voted safest community in the country in Coastal Living Magazine. No matter where you live, the ocean and a beach are just a short walk away. Nahant has beautiful, historic, old NewEngland homes to simple beach cottages (and everything in between). Many people liken it to Nantucket or Martha's Vineyard. It's a quaint, little town, where people love to get outside and walk their dogs, and stop to talk with neighbors. There are several walking trails, that include an Audibon, Bird Sanctuary, and a park along the ocean. It's a great place to raise a family and have your children grow up with memories of living by the ocean. For dining, there are 2 restaurants (one small one near the end of the island, and the other at the causeway with water views). Not only all of this, there ARE affordable homes for sale. "
