"One of the only little cities left in the entire east bay of Northern California . It’s safe . It’s not over populated and over 90% of the people that live here have lived here for more than 20years or more "

"Lots of families and lots of nice dogs. Access to best schools. Peaceful and quiet. Close to downtown Clayton. Great community. Feels secure and safe. Lovely weather. Occassionally experience heavy wind storms in the winter but nothing major. Just suggest if buying a home with original fencing it may need to be updated to hold up another 30 years lol These fences have held up to a lot of wind over the years. "

"I work from home. But, this is not the best commuting location. We are not near major highways and Ygnacio Rd is very busy through Walnut Creek"

"Best place to raise a family hands down. My kids went to all three schools. Since CV went Charter, the API scores went through the roof. From small community feeling, to rolling hills and views, this is the place to be."

"I live here. My family moved here for the scenery, safety, quality of schools, stable property values relative to the market at large. The small town has family owned business feel. The Park is immaculate and heavily, happily used, not forgotten. Town events; October Fest, 4th of July, summer weekend music in the park and other activities give the town life. Landscaping, cleanliness are important to me. The town recently upgraded what was already nice landscaping on the entrance to the town. The area has the feel of San Ramon or Danville on a smaller scale but with some better views. The new motto that is spread even through the elementary schools is "Do the Right Thing." Criticism: I would like to see a few more business appear in town that wold bring in business from out of town or at least let the local residents spend their bucks here instead of away from here. There is still a lot of potential for some small, high quality businesses and the revenues that they would generate. But some residents are reluctant to see any change.I want to stroll the town , shop and enjoy the atmosphere here, not drive away. A few places provide what I seek: the Mudville Grill, Morresi's.. Al fresco dining."

"We were drawn to Clayton when relocating here from the UK in 1997. It has a lovely, quaint, town center, many community events like concerts in the park and moonlight movies in the summer. Many trails. Clayton is on the best side of Mt. Diablo too. CNN Money Magazine rated Clayton in it's 100 best places to live in USA, and Clayton has for years been in the top three "safest cities" in California. Yet, in just 20 minutes we can be in Walnut Creek for luxury shopping and entertainment, or take BART to San Francisco."
